The Sunset Bungalow was built in 1930 and has beautiful knotty pine paneling throughout. The house is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable with splendid views of the river. The home is located on the Pithlachascotee or "Cotee" River, and it has its own private dock. There is a large grassy yard with beautiful grand oak trees. Across the street is Sunset Landing Marina. The same people who own the house own and operate the marina. With the house rental, you get free use of a pontoon boat for 4 hours per week. You may rent the pontoon boats, kayaks or Jon boats for more time on the water. The home is in a quaint neighborhood in an authentic old Florida setting. The two-story bungalow can be divided into two spaces. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a breakfast room, a dining room, a living room, a reading room, and a den. There are a couple of sleeper sofas that can be made into beds. Upstairs has another bedroom, along with another kitchen, a sitting room, a dining area. The home is fully equipped with a laundry room, linens and towels. The kitchens are fully equipped as well. There is cable and Wi-Fi and daily access to a canoe and bicycles. You can fish from the dock and enjoy the tranquility of the calm river. Looking west from the dock you can see the Gulf of Mexico. You will have the opportunity to see dolphin, manatee, pelicans, osprey, eagles and an abundance of wildlife. You can use the pontoon boat to go to Anclote Key and Durney Key and check out the stilt houses in the Gulf. There is a vast array of things to do in close proximity and good waterfront dining in walking distance. Many families return to the Sunset Bungalow year after year. You will to enjoy it too!
